Ellerslie is a suburb of Auckland and is some seven kilometres southeast of the city centre.  Mainly a quiet, residential area, it has excellent transport connections into the city.

As a suburb that offers very good transportation links to the main city, staying in Ellerslie is perfect both for business and leisure travellers.

Top 3 Things to Do and See

Ellerslie Racecourse is the perfect venue for horse racing fans or to get a first experience of “The Sport of Kings”.  Fine dining, a chance to dress up, plenty of bars: a great day out.

Go for a walk or a jog in the beautiful Waiatura Reserve, a wetlands wonderland with a playground and skate park for the young ones.

Cornwall Park is a beautifully landscaped area with many mature trees and a volcanic cone.

Where to Eat

Eating out in Ellerslie offers a range of options and good quality restaurants, so visitors need not travel into the city centre.  Chinese and Japanese restaurants rub shoulders with Italian and home based New Zealand cuisine, so there is plenty of choice.  Check out Union Post Mac's Brew Bar for some fine beer and food with a European/American twist, or go eastern with the E-Sushi Japanese Restaurant and a real taste of authentic cuisine.
