Otara market in Auckland is the largest flea market in New Zealand and one of Manukau's top attractions where you are sure to find plenty of bargains. Only open on a Saturday morning you need to get there early as the market usually expects around 5000 visitors. The market opens at 6am and will be buzzing by 7am, you'll be captivated by the multicultural atmosphere as Pacific Island, M?ori, Asian and Pakeha stallholders sell a range of traditional and unique products. Everything is on sale here, from traditional tapa cloth and quilts from the Pacific Islands, to fashionable clothing and jewellery. As well as the usual market fare the market also attracts entrepreneurs so you can pick up something really special to take back home, this is the place to view Polynesian culture, art and craft and entertainment. The market is held every Saturday morning 6am to 1pm.
