Karori Wildlife Sanctuary

31 Waiapu Road, Kelburn, Wellington 6012, New Zealand

Located in a valley just over a mile west of Wellington, Karori Wildlife Sanctuary is forest and wetland restoration project which is home to over 30 species of native bird including kiwi, saddlebacks, and tuatara.

The 623-acre greenbelt site is a predator-free environment with walking tracks. A range of guided tours are available such as a 1 1/2 hour bush walk.
