Whakapapa is New Zealand’s largest ski area, located on the slopes of the mighty Mount Ruapehu. All ability levels are welcome, with a huge variety of runs available across the mountain’s volcanic terrain. There are a number of cafés ascending the mountain, which has stunning views of the country from its peak across Tongariro National Park to Erua Forrest.
