The mainly residential Caversham is one of the older suburbs of Dunedin. Carisbrook is a major rugby stadium at the eastern end, close to the Hillside Railway Workshops. At the western end a steep valley rises to Lookout Point, offering superb views over neighbouring areas including Green Island.
