The rooms may be simple, but they were very clean and due to the fact I wanted to be out andabout, this hotel was perfectly located and made up for any other shortcomings. The shared bar was also great for meeting people!

If you find yourself in the St Kilda area of Melbourne at the right time of year, then the St Kilda Night Market is definitely worth a visit. This is something of an annual event so it is a good opportunity to get involved with some of the local culture that many tourists may miss out on. The market begins at just past 5pm, and offers a range of different local produce of both the edible and non-edible kind, so visitors can make a night of it.
You may usually associate piers and pavilions with old England, but of course, Australia with its colonial past, has a few of its own to offer. The St Kilda Pavilion, or pier, is a dramatic structure that juts out into the ocean from the beautiful sandy beaches, and acts as a great hangout spot. History buffs will be interested to see how close the current building is to the original, which was destroyed in 2003 by fire.
The St Kilda Sea Baths provide a perfect relaxed experience to top off any day at the beach, or indeed any day on the town. The name suggests a spa, but this complex actually has much more to offer, including a cinema, many restaurants, cafes, and of course some top class sea baths.
